Apple has been hit with a fine of €1.8 billion, or $1.95 billion, by the European Commission.
Apple was found to be "abusing its dominant position on the market" in the way it distributed music streaming platforms through its App Store, the body said in a press release Monday.
"The Commission found that Apple applied restrictions on app developers preventing them from informing iOS users about alternative and cheaper music subscription services available outside of the app ('anti-steering provisions')," it said in the press release.
It added that its restrictions are illegal under EU antitrust rules.
